Associate Coach Developer
British Rowing
In my capacity as an Associate Coach Developer for British Rowing, I actively engage with four coaches to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement through reflective practice and a situation-based approach. Working closely with each coach, I guide them in refining coaching methodologies, honing skill development techniques, and adopting effective training strategies. Emphasising the importance of reflective practice, I encourage coaches to analyse and learn from their experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of their coaching methods. Through collaborative development plans, I aim to contribute to the growth and success of these coaches, promoting a dynamic and adaptive coaching community within British Rowing.

International Consultant Coach
Team Popov
In my role as a Consultant Coach for Team Popov, working alongside their father who serves as their primary coach, my focus is on guiding and preparing Toma Jnr and Christo for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. Responsibilities include executing tailored training and competition programs, providing valuable coaching insights, and conducting opponent analysis. Emphasising a holistic approach, I contribute to managing their development goals and optimizing their training environment. This collaborative effort ensures a comprehensive coaching strategy for the success of Toma Jnr and Christo on their Olympic journey.
2022 - 2023
Head of Doubles
French Olympic Team
During my tenure as the Head of Doubles for the French Olympic Team at the French Badminton Federation from October 2022 to November 2023, I assumed leadership of the Doubles program at INSEP, the National Training Centre for the French National Team. In this role, I provided guidance to the Doubles program and assistant coaches, executed annual training and competition programs, actively coached at international competitions and major events, and managed athlete performance and development goals. Collaborating with the sports science and medicine support team, I coordinated individualised development plans, mentored and nurtured athletes, and aimed to create a world-class culture and training environment. This experience allowed me to contribute significantly to the success and development of the French Badminton Doubles program, emphasizing excellence in coaching and athlete development for achieving Olympic-level performance.
2017-2022
Head Coach
GB Olympic Team
As the Head Coach of the GB Badminton program, I served as the Technical Lead, spearheading the development of the national badminton pathway. My role involves strategic planning for the overall growth of the Badminton system in Great Britain. Additionally, I am a key member of the Strategic Management Team, collaborating with the Performance Director to submit funding proposals to UK Sport and Sport England.
I took charge of leading and developing both the national and junior pathway coaching teams, as well as the sports science and ports medicine team. Overseeing all aspects of athlete annual training and competition programs, I ensured the creation and maintenance of a world-class training environment.
My leadership extended to major championship events such as the Olympic Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and European Championships. In addition to those responsibilities, I was dedicated to mentoring and nurturing athletes to achieve their highest potential.
2006 - 2017
National Coach
GB Olympic Team
As a National Coach, I lead the GB Mixed Doubles program and oversaw the planning and delivery of the Men's Doubles weekly training sessions. My responsibilities included crafting and executing annual training and competition programs, coaching at international competitions, and managing athlete performance and development goals. I collaborated with the sports science support team to coordinate individualised development plans, mentoring and nurturing athletes, and fostering an environment of both fun and learning

Olympic Games
Coaching across three consecutive Olympic Games, from a home Games in London, to the vibrant cultural backdrop of Rio, and the unique pandemic Games of Tokyo, has been a dynamic journey filled with unique challenges and triumphs. Navigating the complexities of each setting, experiencing highs and lows has hugely enriched my coaching experience.
World Championships
My extensive involvement in World Championships spans both player and coaching roles, reflecting a profound commitment to the highest echelons of competition. Having attended two championships as a player, I experienced firsthand the intensity and skill demanded on the global stage. Transitioning to coaching, I have since contributed to the success of athletes in nine World Championships, drawing on my dual perspective to refine strategies and elevate performance. These experiences, whether competing or guiding from the sidelines, have been instrumental in shaping my understanding of elite-level play and coaching methodologies.
Commonwealth Games
Having coached in three consecutive Commonwealth Games in Delhi, Glasgow, and the Gold Coast, each experience has added a unique dimension to my coaching journey. Navigating the challenges and celebrating triumphs on the international stage has been both enriching and transformative. My continued presence reflects a dedication to excellence and underscores the importance of these games in shaping the success and growth of the athletes I guide.
European Games
Having coached at two consecutive European Games in Minsk and in Krakow with different international teams I have gained a unique experience and fully grasped what it takes to be successful. In both editions the teams won a record breaking number of medals, Team GB Winning six medals in 2019 and Team France winning five medals in 2023.
European Championships
With coaching experience in nine European Championships and three title victories, this prestigious competition has been a consistent arena for refining strategies and celebrating elite-level triumphs. My enduring presence underscores a commitment to excellence, highlighting the collective dedication of the athletes I guide.
Super Series Finals
Triumphing at The Super Series Finals in 2015 and securing the runner-up position in 2016 marked significant chapters in my coaching journey during this season finale. These experiences underscore the adaptability and resilience required in elite-level competitions played in the Olympic competition format.
